Nice work there-it got me thinking about the gearbox ground wire,mine doesn't have one-is that a modification fitted to later DMCs? There's only a braided flat ground wire going from the RH side engine mounting to the rear chassis frame below the engine on mine.

There is just a hole in the first place.
Then I add the wire sold by John on his website to improve the negative earth.

Why do you need an earth wire on the gearbox when there is a main chassis to engine block braided cable? The main point to look at is the integrity of the connection between the black cable from the negative post to the metal chassis itself and then the braided cable at the engine block itself.

If you want to fit a supplemental cable, connect one to the engine block as the largest current usage is via the starter motor.

This is from a tight-fisted Northerner who doesn't spend anything without having to, but without compromising safety or reliability :lol: :jzd:

New fuel pump to replace the old one (21 years old)

The old pump wasn’t rusty and the boots not too damaged.

Don't throw the old parts away. The baffles are no longer available.
