0-60 Videos no numbers, no dyno, just FACT

Everyone talks about BHP, autos slower than manuals, dyno tests, well it's time to cut the cr*p and see on video how my car performs.

My car has an automatic transmission, free flow stainless exhaust and a couple of the Volvo engine parts (CPR, Metering head and venturi)
personaly I don't think the Volvo stuff makes any difference but here are the tests.

The rules are simple, each test is carried out in dry conditions in the same car on the same stretch of road which is straight with no noticable gradient, the speedo has been calibrated using a sat-nav and found to be acurate, the times are calculated from when the car starts to move to when the needle hits 60mph (seen in slow motion on the video footage).

Test 1 - 0-60 Selector in D with pedal pushed to the floor

Test 2 - 0-60 Selector used to maually select gears to make better use of the hight 1st and 2nd gear ratios
(to follow)

Any responces to these vidoes by DMC owners claiming their cars do 0-60 in X&Y because a dyno test and their maths degree says so are not of intersted.

James, you don't have to prove it, any member who has an ounce of common sense will know that Auto's are better, more of a pain in the*rectum* when they go *breasts* up, granted!! but Autos are a better drive in all ways compared to the crappy manual variant. Infact us auto owners should deviate away from the rest of the rif raf club because we own the elite Deloreans

This muddies the waters a tad because the camera angle is very oblique, and the speedo is in km.... but I'd settle for between 7 and 8 secs  (speedo goes up in 20s and 62mph is 100kph) - faster would be possible if he was more cruel with the clutch on launch. It's quicker now with a shorter ratio g'box.

If i ever get the chance to have a go in that car I'll bring my suction camera mount, it sticks to the window and works really well for that kind of shot.

I think this type of video footage is much more exciting than things like dyno figures and 'it feals quick'

Well hopefully someone can represent us - shall we say - less lazy people who are able to use both hands and both feet! ;)

I think Dan could be the man for the job:

although I'm not sure his angle drive can be trusted!

Cool. If you wanna go for a race down the A120 James, let me know. We both have the same setup volvo wise, so it would be a straight auto v manual test.

I suppose thats why you purchased the more inferior version of the Delorean so you could prove to yourself that you could multitask??? :P
