Size doesn't matter. It's what you do with it that counts. So Nick T tells me anyway ;)

Gearbox is just about ready for painting after today. Need to get one of the wee rubber yolks that the dipstick is secured in with. Sandwich plate removed from old engine for Dan and sump removed to be transferred across.

How is the oil filler on the aircon rocker cover removed. I want to use the one on my new rocker cover as it is a screw top and shiney. Is fixed on inside but not sure what they are

Matt, are you referring to the insert on the gearbox?

I have one or maybe two in the spare boxes...but years ago a French guy found that the plastic otterstat insert was a perfect fit and stopped it from leaking.

Today I finally got a response from a mobile welder who is calling tonight to see what needs done. I fitted the old sump to my new engine, drilled the 6mm holes on my old rocker covers out to 8mm and fitted the old rocker covers. Removed the old gasket material from the rocker covers and sump, what a job that was! Broke down my front suspension and brake assemblies. Boxed up my calipers to be sent for refurb. Finally I fitted my air con compressor to the engine.
