My old car was always overfilled on the dip stick .. Likewise it never showed a different level hot or cold :)

Try what AB said I know I did and it served me well for 6 years ;)

Nick, had we not tried that when you were here for Eurofest? It was an improvement but still not right.

Thomas, I have no motivation at all, but have cash if you have lol

I would personally start by trying to find a manual box and associated bits to replace that auto. It will be more reliable, and that engine deserves it

What is a good price for a UN1. There is one on ebay for £450 delivered.

We did but then you put a post up about the filter being blocked so you removed it and cleaned it.
I don't know if you re-filled to the original marks or not so I put it down again for a fluid level check.

You could try the vacuum modulator check. It is in the manual and you put the rear up on axle stands so the rear tyres are off the ground.
The car is put in drive and the engine is then run at 2500 rpm.
You should get 8 bar at the test point near the vac modulator at the back of the gearbox.

Although I love the auto I sort of agree with Thomas about the manual for that engine of yours

You would be lucky to find a usable one cheaper than that, they are popular. Maybe somebody here knows of one sitting?

I'm not sure where you could get the pedal box, linkages and mounts - probably the states, or Chris N?

Would consider a manual conversion if I could find a pedal box...

thats bollocks!!! stick with the mighty auto Matt!!! have you phoned Dave H??? before you, heaven forbid decide to go down the manual route, take the box out and get it bench tested at an autobox/gearbox refurbishment place to find the problem. I know you've lost enthusiasm, every Delorean owner goes through this, it's because the car is crap, that what makes us more special than any other classic car owner!! Survive the ownership of a Delorean, and you'll survive anything!!!
