The old girl has flown through the MOT, only issue was the fog light switch not illuminating  so I have to show them that tomorrow, I think the little earth wire must have dropped off, talk about fine tooth comb!

Obviously the play in the steering rack didn't warrant an advisory, but the old non-illuminating fog light switch could be lethal

The main thing is they have issued the MOT certificate so barring the usual risks of trying to get anywhere in a DeLorean it should be at Caley Hall on Thursday evening.

phew!

Glad to hear it James!

Yes a car with no fog light-light is a death trap!

Mine passed with atrocious brakes, no speedo and no fuel gauge. But Arran's right - those non-illuminating fog light switches could cause a terrible accident... :D

thinking about it, my car hasn't even got an illuminating fog light switch (or any other fog-light-related illuminating interior light) - and keeps passing. But then it passed with no fog light at all for a few years. It's was only Chris N's guy that required the fog light to be there. :?

Wouldn't it be a twist of irony if I were to turn on the fog light, be dazzled by the ilumitating switch and drive into a hedge.

It hasn't iluminated since 1999 when I got it, makes me feel sick knowing I've been driving without that important peice of safety equipment .
