Well she finally arrived in southampton and I picked her up from the port. She's better than expected. Most stuff works, even the electric windows :) Frame looks good too. Its pretty much untouched from new, even has original radio in. Wiring hasn't been butchered either which is a relief.

Heres some pics of the collection:

As you can see it needs a set of struts. Who are the preferred people to get these from these days?

+1

Impressed the battery was still working to power the windows if the car hasn't run in how long...?! Or did you run power to the car once you got home?

When do you get cracking on it? The weekend?

No the battery is totally knackered but I already bought a new one for it while it was on its way.

Engine turns over ok, engine bay is very clean and tidy. It won't fire but theres no fuel pressure and I can't hear the pump running so that probably needs changing but I have a spare from the Volvo I can use.

Won't be able to work on it for a while as I'm on holiday for 2 weeks from this weekend. Should have it up and running and MOT'd by end of June though I recon. Then it will be off to Chris Nickleson to get the bodywork tidied up. Will also get a quote from Lee to do the seats and binnacle.

I recon it will be fine. That volvo I bought hadn't run for 5 years and that started up easily enough, and that had been left in the woman's front garden in all weathers to rot. I'll change all the pickup hose and crap in the tank though, fresh fuel and it will go I recon. It was running in 2006 I think it said as I have a receipt from DMC California for a new cat and emissions setup to get it through the smog test they have.
