Silly Question from a Volvo fellow Volvo convertor, have you retained the original fuel feed / return lines (i see you have new cylinder fuel lines) or replaced them?

It literally started after a couple of cranks, spluttered a bit and died (probably air in fuel lines) then 2nd turn of the key it was away! Last night I took it up to the little essex meet up which was its first run apart from round the driveway and all ok.

No these have been replaced as well. Its been a while since I did them but I seem to remember one goes from the fuel filter up to the fuel distributor and the other from the distributor down to the metal fuel return line. All fuel lines are from Delorean Go. They are the same regardless of delorean or volvo variants. The only difference is with Volvo you don't need the frequency valve and it's pipework.

Does it feel any different to the 2.7 that was in there before? Did you carry over all your plugs and leads etc?

I assume you've got no idea what the mixture is doing so just taking it on trust?

It feels more responsive definitely, and more torque - it can pull from quite low rpm now. I think I am now running the same setup as your car Gez?

I have put a Gunson tester up the exhaust to set the mixture, not as accurate as a proper MOT one but probably good enough. I might see if a friendly local garage will put it on their tester for me at some point.

I carried over all my plugs and leads as they were known good ones.

One slightly annoying gremlin I had with the 2.7 was it would hang onto revs after letting off the throttle, only for a few seconds but annoying when changing gear. This has gone since changing the engine over. The revs instantly drop as soon as I lift off now. No idea why an extra 100cc of engine would affect that at all unless the manifold vacuum is now different? Or it was somehow unhappy with the air/fuel ratio of the 2.8 fuel injection on the smaller engine? I never got round to testing the fueling system that came with the 2.7

Yep - the one thing I've noticed with the B28E is better torque. It loves low revs now and really takes off.

Have you got a Volvo ignition dizzy to carry over from your old car Dan (given this engine's one got melted)? That makes a difference too - the advance curve is a bit more aggressive on it so you get more razz lower down the rev range.

My engine is stock B28E throughout, with NGK plugs and stainless exhaust (and a K&N air filter, but fuck knows if it helps).

I expect that's basically the same as yours is now Dan?

Yes I had a good Volvo dizzy out of another Volvo I broke up a few years ago which unfortunately turned out to have a bad block internally. This is the car on page 1 of this thread.

Yes exactly that apart from no K&N. Are you running the early UK stainless exhaust system or the newer D go one?

I'm on the early UK stainless exhaust - is there any functional difference between that and the newer club one?
