So next is to do a bit on the front end, i really want to get some lower springs in there but for now i needed to replace the tie rod ends as the boots had turned to dust but the joint itself is still in great condition, i think after 33 years they could do with a holiday, and while i'm there i replaced the steering boots as well, the originals were not broken just a little perished hence why the rack is in excellent condition but i changed them anyway

it was a little scary to drive this car as the brakes are atrocious, the front disc's were quite warped and the car had a terrible shake when the brakes did eventuality work, combined with the 16 year old Goodyear NCT's on the front made for an exciting ride, so i machined the front disc's and binned the tyres, the rest of the front looks in bad shape but the ball joints are good and everything else works as it should

also it came with the original window card

on to the back end next

Is this one of the consolidated international cars, that they marked up massively on the window sticker so they could then try and flog them at 50% off on the forecourt?

Hi Gary,
Nice car collection you have.
Might be a good idee to also replace the flexibele brake lines. My car had a blister in it under the spring. So at first i did not see it.
I visited a friend who lives in Wanganui in 1996.
We both liked cars so he took me to a car museum in Palmerston North.
The museum had a Delorean in the collection. Must have been one of the first Delorean's I had ever seen.
Always liked the look of the car, never did see the movies or anything like that, just like the lines of the car.
Anyway, I do own one since a few months.
Do you know if the museum in Palmerston is still there? ( and the D )

Hi Delta, thanks for the tip on the brake lines, mine are original and appear to be in great condition but i do hear what your saying, there's a good special on these in the store now might have to think about it, the museum is still there but have never been to it so i can't help there,

So i've now moved on to the back end and this is what it use to look like

first job is to have a look at the weeping reverse light sender, very easy fix with a new dowty seal and reinstall without cross threading it,
one of those area's that has a very high chance of "while your there" jobs, knocked the pin out to pull the flanges and adjusting nut

if your needing to do this as well there are 5 seals you need, one of them is here (and the other side) thats the rusty ring at the bearing end of the shaft, another on the adjusting nut and an oil seal on each side
