Thanks guys, yes far more crap than I envisaged but that's par for the course with these cars I suppose

I wouldn't worry when you get it down to that level you will always be seeing blood and guts. I am sure in the factory many of them didn't look too great either yet alone after 40 years.

The rear towing hooks were filled with rust sandwich, I think I'll be using that word alot now lol

Decided to remake the dog bone rather than repair the old one

I thought it might jog a few memories alright!, becoming a trend

Onto one of the biggest rust sections yet, the doubler plate on both sides of the rear ' y '. Thought the drivers side at first would only need to be replaced but on further inspection passenger side wasn't far behind. So both were re fabricated.
The sandwich filling had extended behind the trailing arm bracket mounts and the rear turrets for the gearbox mounts.

Starting to see progress turning a corner a wee bit and keep spirits up for Nicky

Seeing the work skill and fabrication up close really makes it clear how hard it is and the time it takes
