The A stands for America. So yeah it's a club I guess. It says Delorean Motor Club of America, INC at the bottom. Didn't really think about that when I bought it. Still, for £35 I'm not complaining. It's an original club folder. D'OH

Yeah, it's old. Pages are discoloured but all present.

Finally the ship has arrived at felixstowe. There was a week delay at barcelona due to a back log of containers or something to that effect.

Im expecting to hear from the clearing agents tomorrow or the next day and im hoping to collect the car friday but realistically i expect it will be next week.

 brilliant, now the fun starts :dmcdoors:

Potential tip: if it runs/ you plan to run it, take a fresh battery, or jump leads or maybe a starter pack?

Very good plan!

I'm sure you know that if its not run for a while, the first thing you'll want to do before trying to turn the key is go into the tank and clean it out and get new rubber bits if necessary.

Photos when you start please!! Good luck!

I plan on giving the car a full service as i dont know its history. I was told it runs and drives but i wanna play it safe. From the pictures it looks like work has been done on the engine but wont really know till i see it in person.

Ill be updating this thread as i go and the facebook page i created (https://www.facebook.com/livingthedream81/)

As per Andys post, you should consider cleaning out the tank as a matter of course, if nothing else at least you will know that it has been done and can also check the condition of the in tank filter, pickup hose and fuel pump boot while you're in there.

Tbh i will very likely clean out the tank. I dont know how long the car has sat for before i bought it but i know its been sat in a container for nearly 2 months.

VAT and agent fees have all been paid and I can collect the car tomorrow (29th). Only paid 5% vat too. D day is finally upon me! I now have a week off work and hopefully (fingers crossed) i can get the car through an MOT within this time frame

A big thanks goes to all who have helped with my queries so far and to those that will have to put up with me in the future.

So finally I now have the car on my drive. Theres loads more work to do than I first thought but ho hum. I'll be starting with the fuel tank and checking all that. Ive had to use the spare tyre as one of the rear tyres was perished (they all need changing really). Needs new struts all round too. All engine tubes need changing too as do the belts. Passenger window has fallen in transit and both window motors need attention. Good thing i have a week off but i doubt ill have the car ready for an mot in that time.

I found some weird alarm box thing under the ashtray and a switch behind the drivers seat on the parcel shelf. No clue what it does. Also found a small collection of neil diamond tapes... epic win there

Spike Mcfly is eager for a ride though.
