I just checked and i have a set of the plastic and the metal trim clip removal tools. Will have a go a little later today.

That trim kit will suffice too. I have a similar one myself and i even keep one of those in the glove box. I got locked inside the car once and it helps to be able to remove the trim easily. I also only use 3 fir trees on the upper door cards too which makes things even easier.

Not yet had a look at the chains, will try and do that as the weather is showing good from Lunch time now through Sunday.

Wings now back "Aloft" Trim came off pretty easy, only broke two Fir tree's. (Plastic trim tool now a fixture within the car!)


Whilst in their i noted the entire roof lining is soaking wet. looking in the roof area i noted loads of headliner is laying in the channels through the door seal on both sides. Pics below. Not sure if anyone else has experienced a possible syphon effect. Just found this on the other Forum

Would suggest pulling the door seal off, and trimming the headlining back. If it's sitting in that channel anytime it rains and water goes into those channels, the excess headlining material will wick it into the car. It wants trimming just as it hooks over the fibreglass tub.

Excess was an understatement! The channel was full in a couple of places on both sides! All trimmed now.

oh dear, no wonder you were getting water in the car.

For clarification, I've marked here where I was suggesting to trim, just after it hooks over the top of the tub. That will stop it wicking water into the car.

Tricky to see and I have never looked through that hole but it looks a little rusty, Lets see what folk think. I am guessing there should be no rust in there at all..

Difficult to say on the chains, personally if the car is staying outside and the headliners are very wet I would take them out now as they will retain moisture inside the car which you don’t want

And also I would unbolt the seats and get them indoors it’s a lot easier to work on the items you will be addressing with the seats out
