Before condemning the ecu, try taking a dwell reading from the red/brown cable from pin 15.

If doing the above doesn't work then I'd suspect the fuel ecu as long as you've checked the cabling as per the previous wiring diagram in my earlier post.

I can bench test it for you or send you a known working tested one to try, unless there's someone near you who you can borrow one from.

Good luck

I think we have an ECU in the French club, so I think I can borrow it to test.

Domi wrote:So, here is a video to show you how I connect the wire.
First of all I have disconnect the lambda probe, and connect another brown wire to the blue wire and then goes to a ground terminal.
The Dwell value is still the same, in both case. (connect to earth or not)
Two year ago, my ECU was good, do you think while the engine wasn't working all this time may cause a defect ECU?
I've change mine in 1997 if I remember correctly. Same problem of idle.
Maybe I can plug my bad ECU (which I still have it somewhere) and see if the result are the same.
In that case, I'll know if its dead or not?
What do you think?

Btw you've connected the wrong wire to a non earth point on the car. ..

Connect the blue cable that is from the fuel computer pin 4 to the negative battery post or Pin 5 (assuming you've checked that Pin 5 is a verified earth point to the negative battery post)

You've connected the oxygen sensor wire feed to the ecu to a shock absorber where it is insulated by rubber/ paint etc.

I thought the blue wire connected to the Lambda probe was the good one. Different routing on my car. (home made exhaust system)
It was connected to a ground with the brown wire (not to a shock absorber)
So where do I find the good blue wire? Behind the driver's seat or in the engine compartment?
A pic would be helpful if you don't mind? Thanks!

I'm not at my car so I can't get a pic.

The blue wire is behind the drivers seat under the wooden board where the fuel computer is. It goes to the grey rubber bung that goes to the black car body firewall. Pull this grey bung out of the firewall and you'll see the male blade connector that the oxygen sensitive connects to. Connect this make blade connector to the earth point and observe the dwell readings. .

Edit: rubber bung not rivet, my usual phone auto correct crap

I have two blue wire A & B
A = It goes to the unit under the ECU from the engine compartment.
B = It goes to the computer inside the small luggage compartment from the Lambda sensor which I use to connect to earth.

Use B, the one that goes to the fuel ecu

Ok, so that's the one I use to connect it to earth in my video.
Same earth that my Dwell plug. (brown wire)

I think you're talking about second 15 in the video.
The wire is not connect to the shock, it's an optical illusion.
This wire come from the lambda probe and is disconnected.
Earth point is brown wire only.
