Here is my red car. Previously in storage for 18 years. These are early photos, not restored yet. The car has only been hand washed. not polished or repaired. For the eagle eyed amongst you the water pump and exhaust have been removed. The car is now running albeit with a few tweaks needed. The car was imported form Ireland in Dec 1988. 2 english owners before we bought it in 1992.

That does look very very nice indeed John - especially painted!

Al is looking into the history of this, but he is quite excited (obviously being painted), and seems fairly sure it's a Culloden auction car.

It has never been to the USA, and has only done about 8000 miles apparently.

Looks stunning!!

Fantastic to see it!

One way we could speed things up John, is if you have any details of any of the Irish owners?

Many of the Irish club are members here and are a great bunch who would only be too pleased to help.

I have no info before it was imported, if anyone knows of its history i would really appreciate your replies. THe paintwork is supurb. all panels were removed - all frames etc have been painets. The car must have been totally stripped to paint. It was certainly not a quick respray. For info i have attached the current odometer reading at 8,699 miles. When it was imported in dec 88 it was reading 4,850miles.

OK - I and Al are fairly convinced that your car was auctioned by Northern Ireland Carriers at the Culloden Hotel auction (Al knows the details). Rob lamrock has the catalouge, so could verify if the VINs were in it - but they aren't.

7.38 here:

and the beginning of here:

You will see your car (maybe) right as the beginning of the second video - one of 12 auctioned off by NIC to recover debts. Whoever bought it painted it red.

Al - There was obviously a factory auction too - I guess for the later VINs. How did N.I.C. end up with these cars in their possesion anyway, and how come they aren't right at the end of the VIN chronology?
