Hey all,

Just a quick question for you D techies. I seen a really nice D for sale, everything appears to check out including chassis, but here's the kicker - it's got 107k miles on the clock.

Yay or nay?

Lots of people on here will tell you that it's not about the mileage, it's about the condition. If it's been well maintained I'd have that 107k car in a heartbeat over a neglected 5k car. I would say ignore the mileage and look at condition and the work that's been done to the car.

Don't worry about the engine - if it's been well maintained it'll happily double that figure. And don't worry if at some point the engine needs changing, enough people in this club have done a bit of that. It's perfectly doable :D

Exactly, if it done that many miles (recently), it'll easily do a lot more.

Get a list of what's been done, having an engine go out on you used to be a worry, not anymore thanks to TT!
