Hey all,

Today I travelled down to London from Yorkshire and realised a 22 year dream - I bought my DeLorean :)

The car in question is Colm Nugent's October 81, VIN 5706, pics below: viewtopic.php?f=56&t=2573

The car's in stunning condition. The interior is A+, there isn't a single ding on the stainless, Chris Nicholson approves the chassis, and it even has door launchers (which the concours fans may frown upon, but I love!). Overall i'm giddy with excitement - never before has getting car insurance quotes been such fuckin good fun :D

I really just want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your extaordinaty support. Without your advice I'm positive it'd have taken me years to take this leap. So, thank you Domi, Alistair, Dermot, Neal B, Tom H, Chris S, Gez (for the importing checklist you wrote in 2009), Dan, James, Rob V, Arran (for hosting the club event), Bozzzy (for the useful tips), Claire (from DOC), Admin Bloke (whoever you are!), Dave Howarth (for the predictably lengthy but hugely interesting phone call), TT (for the mechanics 101 and laughs), Andy D, Paul Mahoney, Mike Ward, the guy with the BTTF D (herosforhire), and everyone else who gave me the advice I needed.

A particular thanks goes out to Chris Hawes, who got me involved in all of this shit, Colm Nugent, for selling me the car and for his offer of ongoing assistance should I need it, and to Chris Nicholson, who gave me advice on a level I really should have paid for.... but didnt ;)

I put down a deposit this morning and shall hopefully have the car in a couple of weeks. As soon as I do you'll the be first to know. Hopefully I'll see some of you at the DOC event next month :)

Cheers guys, can't express my gratitude enough

Steve

Nice plate too :) Glad you are pleased with your purchase. Look forward to seeing it. Are you bringing it up to Arran's for the autumn meet this year?

@Dan - I wasn't aware there was an autumn meet?? Is there some info about it on the forum/somewhere?
