I am going to give Tony Lester of TransGlobal Shipping a well deserved plug here - he arranged the import of my Delorean from Miami to Southampton using David Old of Wallenius Wilhelmsen to do the paperwork etc this end, It meant that from my point of view the whole shipping saga and duty problems were completely taken away from me - they've both handled Deloreans before and all I had to do was collect the car. They kept me posted every step of the way and were very reasonable. Duty incidentally was charged and unchallenged at £50. If anyone is shipping a Delorean over then their details are:

This was the guy who helped me get my car over in May 2004!
As you say super helpful and its great to see he is still working for them.

I'm really glad people are still using TGAL. I "found" them back in 2001 when they were TransCar International, and have used them for every car I've brought over.
The £50 duty thing relates to a time waiver on Returned Goods Relief. It was not easy to get the first time,a nd something that might not be easy to get unless bringing the car through Southampton and/or using W&W as an agent.

Tony was the man for me bringing mine over 9 months ago... although I used a different guy to sort my paperwork out at this end (Will Pocock at TGAL UK, who I'd highly recommend).
Somehow I got away without paying the £50 charge or any port storage fees too!
