Vin 3802 For Sale - £21,500 (unregistered) NOW SOLD

I have details of this one: http://classiccars.brightwells.com/view ... hp?id=4469 - which was up for auction recently and didn't make the reserve (highest bid was £19k) - but then it wasn't exactly marketed that well...

It is currently in Mansfield, no MOT and has not been registered. The owner isn't advertising it, and is asking for £22,500, but will take £21,000 but not a penny less (has turned down offers). Tax and duty etc has been paid on it. I get the feeling he's happy to wait it out until spring to get top price for it.

The battery may be dead but the car runs.
Drivers door is a little "bent" apparently,
interior not perfect
driver window doesn't work
no service history

If anyone is interested let me know and I will pass on the owner's name and number. I'm not publishing it here as I haven't got this direct from the owner.

Looks like a nice project for someone to get registered and sort the rest as going along.

Can't help but feel the seller would get a lot more for it if they could provide some idea of the work that has or hasn't been done to the car! Otherwise you have to assume it's simply had nothing and just happens to run...

Shame it's not a grey 5 speed, may have been interested.

Do you know if it is a recent import?

The details are a little sketchy, it's an import - imported by the owner who's paid the taxes etc, just hasn't been MOTd or registered. As to when it came over, I get the feeling it wasn't that recent. But it used to be owned by Pat Mastroianni in Canada - the "famous soap star", who was posting pictures of "His DeLorean" only last year, so perhaps it was recent.

If the seller went to the trouble of putting an MOT on it, and registering it, then it would probably sell. An unregistered car has got 'buyer beware' written all over it, and lets face it, it's not exactly hard to get it registered, providing you have the appropriate documentation.

On the subject of auction cars, there is one coming up on the 16th October, guide price is £14-£16k (although I suspect that is just to get people through the door): viewtopic.php?f=56&t=4364

One can only assume there is a reason, or the seller can't be bothered, or is perhaps planning on doing so in time for spring and putting it up for £30k - would probably explain why it's not advertised now.
So far not one person has asked me for his phone number :)

I'm not surprised, the leg work still needs doing and you can get one yourself fully imported, tax paid for less than £17-18k, a good one too! There are a few on DMCtalk right now for far less, and in much better shape.
