Hi all. Pleased the Sale "caused so much excitement!" The car was indeed in Monday nights sale, as we were asked by the owners of Aston Barclay to list it on Monday for publicity reasons for them, which clearly worked for them, with hundreds of people attending, and even local press for interviews! We had no idea someone would try and purchase it ay this sale!! We were excited to see an online bidder enter the affray, and as accused by another member, had NO involvement in "running it up" as first thought!? It sold for the said figure of £29600, which rose to 30K which we have since declined. The fees would have come to around £600 all in at Aston Barclay, as I believe it was indeed a trader "waving his arm around." We all had loads of fun on the night, and plenty of banter was had! The car is now back on our site, where it will remain until sold at £35,000 and we continue to enjoy local shows such as The Warren, and Stockbrook Manor, where it gained greater attention that a MacClaren P1 belonging to a Friend which made me chuckle! I hope this helps all with the figures on the night, but if anyone would like to discuss with me further, then please contact me via our website, www.essextradecars.co.uk Kindest regards, Nigel.

Oh, I think that I understand, it's obvious that it is all just a publicity stunt.

Just my opinion of course....... ;)

Essex Live are still under the impression it's sold, and that they have interviewed the new owner!

One of our members (Graham) knows the 'buyer' so he called him.

Apparently he was told one hour after buying it that reserve hadn't been met
Then called the next day to say his offer would be accepted... but buy this time he had the hump and said no thanks!

Hi guys.

We are not sure where you're all getting your information from, but if you knew how a car auction works, you would know that you wouldn't be able to say no to a bid, and then back-pedal, as this is not the done thing! We declined the sale for £29,600, and that's why it went provisional, with a 32k reserve, which means we didn't accept! The buyer was just a complete waister, wanting to give himself some press, and why he did pictures and interviews, "God only knows!" We are collecting the car on Monday from Aston Barclay, then it will go into storage for winter at one of our buildings. Both my business partner, and I were surprised that no one has rung us for "the real story" of this sale, instead of listening to someone that knows the buyers cousin who knows his Dog! We are genuinely nice guys, and would be happy to update you with the truth! Kindest, Nigel. P.S, Living proof is the car is still on our website at 35k!

Hi Nigel , I wonder if Essex Live who seemed to be the main media on this would speak to you and report the truth.
