Well you should get a decent car for that money.
It’s definitely worth taking your time to find the right car.
I’d personally avoid dealer cars as they usually look ok on the surface but have other hidden issues that the dealer hasn’t bothered to put right.
Some of the best cars aren’t widely advertised. There may be some members on here thinking about selling so you’ve certainly come to the right place!

Thank you so much for your advice, I did have a look at a DeLorean today from a dealer and rightly said was overpriced and hiding I believe to be a few issues. Are there any other places to search for a DeLorean?

Thanks

Majority of deloreans have outstanding issues really.

If you havent already, i would advise you get these buyers bibles. The american one is harder to find and isnt really cheap anymore but the other is easy to get for about £15. Theyre good guides

It really is a waiting game. Decent cars are out there but few and far between. There’s a few well seasoned members on here that will keep you in the loop once word gets out.
For £40k you would expect a completely overhauled car likely with a stripped and re coated chassis, new suspension, a properly serviced fuel system with new lines and a sorted interior as a minimum. At 40 years old most rubber parts will have rotted and should have been replaced.
Sadly most dealer cars have little more than a bit of cosmetic work and a car wash in the hope the stainless steel will woo a potential buyer.

For £40k the car needs to be pretty much sorted.
This entire list needs to have been done at least...
