I spoke to Birksie the other day as he was after a wheel bearing so I am assuming it is the part at the end of the stub axle.

Yep thats the fella.
Ive just fitted a new hub and bearing only to find the bush/spacer has been smashed. Probably from over tightening the hub nut.
