Hi,

Are the paper seals that seal the liners to the block available over here?

I was looking online and apparently Josh Bengston sells stainless ones?? How can they possibly seal if they are metal?

Cheers,

most gaskets on modern engines are made from a shim type material now. Personally though, knowing what the alloy is like on the block, I would make sure both the block and liner material on the mating faces are clean of any corrosion or debris using scotchbrite or something similar. and I would use the paper gaskets sealed with Hermatite blue or Hylomar on either side . what colour gaskets do you need???

Talking to the engine guru, mr tourettes recons to use yellow ones.

I have just found that Ed sells them and dirt cheap too :)

I might not need them bits off you anymore jason as I found the block is rotten. So I have stripped down my other engine now and hopefully that has a good block and crank and I can make one good one out of all the bits.

I'm thinking about getting the heads rebuilt while they're off and I already have new valve seals that I can use. Anyone got a recommendation of someone that can do them?

i used the place that TT recommended for my heads to be skimmed, elmsleigh engineering i think was the name, i assume they could go through them as well, or you could go the performance route and them gas flowed and stuff !

Cheers for that Mec, I'll give them a call and see what they can do :) I won't worry about performance mods though as its still a delorean ;)

I'd do them myself (apart from skimming) but haven't got the time because of work and I really want this thing working again in time for eurofest.
