Are you replacing that heater valve too ? They can have a habit of failing at the connections to the hoses...

It looks pretty ok to me. But considering the number of connections I have to change, there's got to be a weak spot

Coming back to the heater valve stuff. I would advice anybody to use the heater once every while just to get the stuff flowing. I have always been a summer driver and I havent used the heater in about 10 years. After replacing all of my coolant hoses, each and everyone of them we super-clean, but the pipes to and from the heater were seriously corroded with dry coolant.

Again, flush her heater once in a while, same goes for your old *****.

well funny enough if you dont use the mode switches the water is pumped around until you use the first 2 settings to shut the valve off, its not exactly a good design because the seals around the matrix can leak heating up the footwell. I shut mine off using a different valve.

Coming from you, that means a lot to me! I will be cleaning/painting the intake tomorrow to do some light work for a change! This is going to look good (he said in a very humble tone of voice).

Looks i might need another paint layer. The winds around here came through the door and blew around a lot of dust in my garage.

Other thing is when replacing my slave clutch, the connector (#5) was lacking the #4 plastic washer and was *really* stuck. I soaked it in WD for a couple of hours to get it loose. Before I continue i need to replace that washer and bleed the system before doing anything else.



I've come a long way but now I need to step back for a few days, order some parts (e.g. shift linkage bearings) and finish up next week.

Just put in an order with Ed's for a couple of washers and other bits and bobs for reassembly. This must be the smallest (cheapest) order I've ever placed with him at around €20,-. The most expensive thing was the coolant switch clip ( )

Washers haha, Ed's gonna laugh! But I am not bothered with shopping for the right one as I do not have a comparison to bring along.
