No consolation I'm sure.

Not only that, but get taxed three times: excise, 10% stock levy and 19% VAT; the excise is the biggest bang, but that one is fixed per volume, regardless of the price, so you have a big of an point there.

The bad side is that the we 'see' the price increase as an absolute like 'another 10 cents more expensive' and not as a percentage.

Reminds me about what my dad always says: "Fuel more expensive? Not for me, i always put €50,- in."

:D

This is getting silly. 3.99 this morning, 4.09 this afternoon on the way home from work.

Looking back through my "Gas Caddy" app , gas was 2.85 on Feb 1, so that's a 43% rise in 3 months. That's a lot in anyone's book.

How about this then, you wouldn't believe if you didn't see it. This is the very same Focus that took Tone, Rob, Little Em and myself to the minimeet in March, then we got over 60 to the gallon. The weekend before last I filled it up at the Sainsbury's the the Rayleigh Weir, Tone knows it, I know the rest of the don't. Anyhow it cost me £55 to fill up, and being a tight *camel toe* I couldn't believe how much to fill my car up, SO I decided to see how far I could get and the best economy. To travel to work is 50 miles round trip, so far I have done 8 days to work, just under 500 miles on the odometer and still quarter of a tank!!! all that out of a crappy old Ford!!! The read out is an average one since my last fill up

In Norway petrol has now passed 15NOK/litre. That's 1.66 Punds/litre, and 7.47 Punds/gallon. Tax and fees is approx. 70% of that price.

Actually, I have a confession, those figures are rubbish. I was going to say 'bollocks', but because were on the public bit I thought I would stick with 'rubbish,' for which I'm quite proud of myself for not swearing. Anyway, I was so pleased with my self, I drove my car for 2 weeks very economically and carefully and I made a tank of derv last 2 weeks, Usually I'll burn a tank in a week, but I wanted to prove a point and see how economical the car could be. Well I filled it back up last Friday night and noted the Figures. Yesterday I was with my daughter at her Karate competition, and really out of shear boredom I worked it out, and it worked out only to 56 mpg, which is probably more realistic. Oh well, sorry to pull all your legs, it wasn't intentional, I've learn't a lesson now, don't rely on Ford Fuel computers cause they be crap, my one is anyway!! Actually, when I took it out it, had the Letters JD on the back, maybe to do with a part number, I don't know, Maybe because it could have been designed by JZ himself, after all he was a genius you know!!!

at the current exchange rate of $1.61 to every £1, if you lived in this country you would pay $10.26 for every gallon of unleaded fuel based on £1.40 per litre. How much do you pay per gallon in U.S. I know it's going to be something ridiculous compared to us I know, just out of curiosity??? Now you might realise why our Deloreans have so low mileage!!!
