Actually there's a school of thought that goes the other way - a customer of mine who is in the aircraft industry is insisting on 100% glycol.

NO NO NO!

With regard to water...de mineralised is best, you get a free supply from a dehumidifier. No calcification or furring up. Any old calcium coating or furring inside the engine will be drawn out by the demin water, change it several times and you get a much cleaner system. The demin also acts like a surfactant, and has a lower viscosity than tap water, so flows better.
Allbeit in a molecular way.

Thanks for the link Admin bloke although on Friday (see my earlier post) I ordered a new tyre from Vintage Tyres (just before you listed the DOT date check). Tyre is now at the Service/MOT centre so I'll check the date on it tomorrow before fitting. Air, oil and fuel filters are all in and ready for fitting...

The pre-MOT check/service should reveal anything that could be a problem for the MOT itself. Seventh MOT in my ownership tomorrow... fingers crossed...

Car passed. Joy! The only advisory was that the exhaust is noisy (says that every year :D )

Thanks for all the feedback guys, much appreciated.
