Me RS2000

Few pics to start of my RS2000 mk2 Escort. As some of you know, I'd owned it for a number of years before some thieving, dirty, stinking low life scumbag, decided to take a fancy to it. Six weeks later it was found & to 'cut a long story', I bought it back off the insurance. That was 2006 & it's been in the back of my garage since, I really could not decide what to do, it's a (was) really nice car, 1980, only two previous owners, only 32,000 miles, all the history etc. But when some prick has been riding around in your pride & joy, you feel different when you get it back.

Anyhow, fast forward a few years & I've kept looking at it at the back of the garage & I thought it's too nice to let some wanker spoil the party, so I'm on with it. I will pop a few pics on as it develops.

Yeh, classic Darren, I watch every now & then on ITV4, in fact watched it yesterday. Bit of trivia for you, they had the car delivered for the series, then found it was far too dark inside for the interior shots, so had a sunroof retro fitted to get more light in. You can see it in the clip where he drops the woman off.
That car is a 'non custom' model, but with custom alloys fitted, mine is the custom, they came with the 'amazing' addage of alloys, centre consel, remote drivers mirror & clock, wowee!!
Oh & of course the classic Fishnet Recaro's

Not to take anything away from it but for a similar year the D must really have looked out of this world back then

My first car was a Fiesta van 'A' reg .. the first of the new shape.. with no radio console.. so I had to buy one and screw it under the dash :)

She's at the paint shop now. Just took some of the glass out ready to make a start. BTW a big thanks to a certain Mr Vanstone, for the collection of the new tinted glass, which I purchased off the evilbay, but which was about from here to France for me to collect! Cheers Al.
