Ok have got two pairs of the Niva lenses, I'm working on combining them into a horrible mutant creation with central indicator area and little sidelight strips at the sides. Will post pictures when done :) Also some stand-alone rear fogs, decided to try that (under bumper) rather than wire half of the brake lights as fog lights.
Non-standard rear view mirror with integrated LCD screen (for backup camera) has arrived. The two-tone seat covers weren't available, but I might make some myself (by adding apliques to the grey ones; in which case I might add some white EL wire to the seams).
Currently looking at the transmission; gearbox is due to be rebuild in January. I couldn't find a strengthened coupler in stock anywhere so I started looking at the one-piece input shaft (from the Elise V8 close ratio retrofit kit). However I'm worried about the torque being too low with the taller 1st & 2nd gears, so I'd have to change the final drive ratio to match the LV8 too. But then the 5th gear would be too short (for noise + fuel economy) so I'd have to change that to match the LV8... would get very expensive! Even moreso because at that point I'd probably say in for a penny in for a pound and put in the ATB limited-slip diff as well. ;)

Elise V8 ? Must of missed that :mrgreen:

Only Elise with a V8 was the GT1 and that didn't use the UN1 :D

Starglider - any particular reason why you want to modify the gearbox? Unless you're going for silly power (>300bhp) the UN1 is generally understood to cope OK.

Visited P J Grady Europe today, frame work is coming along;

Some non-stock bits on there e.g. high power pump from John H fitted, Ed Uding's springs, Spax shocks, beefed up LCAs from Heninger and Associates (awaiting resin coating) etc. Left several boxes of electronic gadgets with Chris N, picked up the engine (to go to DMC Europe for rebuild & turbo conversion).

Transmission parts had also arrived with Chris N (one-piece input shaft, gearing, final drive, limited-slip diff). Gearbox / transmission rebuild in January.

Martin G is looking into fabricating a rear sway bar for this car (similar to his previous prototype, connecting to the hubs and routed through the engine cradle tunnel).

Frame is looking great. What kind of condition was it in before? What have you had done to it?

Dusty never-assembled parts with a few bits missing.

What have you had done to it?

Chris N had it powder coated, then put several layers of expoy stuff and paint on it.
Apparently the front crumple zone / bumper mounting was missing, so he fabricated it out of stainless.

I don't think a rear anti roll bar is needed. I've own several Esprits in my time, some with silly amounts of hourse power and none of them had or needed a rear anti roll bar.

As long as the tabs are all ok then The rear suspension is triangulated from the frame to the hub and so ideally setup.

Id be more worried with all that weight behind the rear axel :)
