Are you still considering headlight washers?

Heh that was just a joke, but I do have an uncontrollable gadget addiction, so who knows.

Certainly if I sold the car that one would be near the top of the 'PO WTF?' list. ;)

First box of parts from Bob Mosley ('Videobob') arrived; he wasn't kidding about 'out of the mould parts', there are voids and flare everywhere, five different colours of plastic used, and the wormhole emitter arrived broken into three pieces. I don't mind because I'll be heavily modifying the parts anyway - fortunately the wormhole emitter was the one part I didn't need as I'll be making my own from scratch. Anyone expecting these parts to be ready to use would be very disappointed though.

Did no one warn you about buying parts from videobob? He doesn't exactly have a great reputation for producing quality parts. Bruce Coulombe would be a much safer bet if you want quality BTTF replica parts for your car.

I'd rather buy oil and spark plugs and get the car running right ;)

Yes they did and yes I know. It's acceptable in this case because I already need to do substantial rework and modification regardless of the quality of the parts.

Bruce Coulombe would be a much safer bet if you want quality BTTF replica parts for your car.

I asked but he claims that he is no longer selling individual props or kits, it is 'not economic compared to making full vehicles' and 'not the direction I want to take my company in'. Of course he still seems to put surplus bits on Ebay at irregular intervals.

As a side project I am designing an original, BTTF-inspired but quite different from the film car prop set. There is no question of 'screen accuracy', much of the detailing will be completely different.

Chris N has devised an impossibly cunning mounting scheme for this that (a) requires no new holes and (b) can be fitted and removed in under half an hour. As such this isn't a permenant conversion, it's something that could be added to the car for sci-fi conventions etc. Don't really have an ETA for this, probably some time after the actual car is done.
