Largest Microcar Museum in the World

(if that is not an oxymoron)

For a couple of years now, I have known that the largest microcar museum in the world is about an hour’s drive away from me, but I had never been. However, word got out that the owner was selling his collection and closing the museum, so I went down on Friday.

And what a collection he has accumulated. Apparently this is his second one, having auctioned off the first on in 1997. Amongst the expected Isettas, Messerschmidts, and BMWs was a surprisingly large assortment of British vehicles (Peel, Bond, one Mini, Sinclair, Frisky, Scootacar, Berkeley)

Supposedly only 26 Peel P50’s left in the world (out of 50 built)

And a 1965 Peel Trident (one of only 45 built) This is actually the second one I have seen in Atlanta. There was a blue one at the local British car show a few years ago.

These little cars are worth $25-40,000 each. A small fortune in $/lb

$80.000 - $100,000 estimate for this little thing (Goggomobil 250 based van page 188 or Lot 269)

The peel 50 is thanks to too gear is probably the most recognisable over here!

Peel P50's where manufactured right here on the Isle of Man.
