Hi,

I thought I would introduce myself, my names David and I hail from Northern Ireland. I have been a fan of the Delorean since I seen the first transporters leaving the factory, as my parents lived virtually on the front doorstep of the factory. I can recall my mum calling me every time a lorry was about to pass the house for the docks (an easy way to entertain a toddler), we could see them leaving via the access road off The Cutts at Derriaghy before they passed my parents house on the main road to Belfast. I also remember my mum telling me they were not making the cars any more, I think there might have been a few tears shed.

I always dreamed of owning a Delorean and I finally did it last weekend when I bought VIN1780. The car is currently at my mechanics initially he thought the engine had seized, but after putting some kind of lube in he managed to turn the crank manually. I have new tyres on order (proper size), news gas struts, trailing arm bolts and a new door seal no doubt that's just the start of it :)

David

Yes, and I'm pretty sure Nick Sutton said it was the best month for them too :)

That's right, but his full statement was "if it wasn't for the cars built in August 1981, the ones in June were the best". Very astute man is Nick. :D

Here is the evidence ;) - viewtopic.php?f=71&t=298

You can use this when you come to sell the car lol. Clearly adds £10k to the value!

Well, clearly a site admin with a vested interest has altered that.

Funny I was reading through Nicks webchat at lunch time, near choked on my tuna roll when I read June 81 was the best.

What I want to know is what size of brown envelope did Nick get to say that :p
