This was a lazy day.
Juts worked on a couple of things.
For one, I cleared the rusty headlights assembly for sandblasting and powercoating.

Forgot what it was like unscrewing rusty screws!!

The I placed the engine bay's wire fixture
Bolted with SS screws....


Hmmmm Just look at that rough mate black powercoating texture!



Finally I did some more frame welding until I ran out of Argon on my Tig

Just found out a significant something about my D.
VIN 5992 was the LAST vehicle in the production line to have its door strap wrapped around the door handle.
After 5993 the strap was fastened on the door panel.

On to the works:
Brought back my evaporator core an the heater core from the shop after checking them for leakage and cleaning it with antibacterial foam.
In the mean time, I have all the interiors refurbished and applied new foam insulation.

Heater core installed


Blend door with fresh foam insulation. Had also to glue that flap. Somebody had opened hat in the past and broke it.


Again new insulation on the center console doors


All set up and ready for installation

Masked the housing connections to keep it air tight.

Sandblasted and powder coated the frames. Preferred a light gray color for them and mounted the square halo headlights with HID H4s

Thanx. The irony is that I love in a never rusting country. But I am considering that it most probably will be sold to a northern country in the future.
