i recken you guys with no front plates should chat Jason up and get him to make you a motorized mount like his, then when they stop you, you can press the button and make the cops look like right muppets when they walk round the front and there's a plate sitting there ! lol

I got stopped for no front plate, but he fell for the just fallen off story
But he issued a fine for rear plate letters being too small!

It was a UK plate with the letters resized so it looked neat in the bezel, if it had the full size letters it would cropped them!

Because I argued he then also threatened to 'do' me for having tax disc on wrong side of windscreen.... When I explained that it would interfere with my view he still wouldn't have it.

In the end I just shut up... He then admitted that he was in the area as it was near an American airbase and he could catch loads with no seatbelts on etc

I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere in the C&U regs that you are entitled to 're-size' the plate if it interferes with the std bodywork i.e bezel

I need to look back but something tells me I didn't pay then received a caution... I could be wrong though... I think he knew all along he was really clutching at straws just to find something

Sorry to hear about your encounter Jez.

Ju, is quite correct. You CAN resize your letters to fit within the STANDARD Delorean rear bezel. Since the car is an "import" you have an exception on the numberplate letter size.

I run a front and rear numberplate re-sized to US style to fit within the bezels. My front numberplate surround is a genuine US Delorean Dealership frame.

As long as you use black on white & Black on Amber reflective plates and no fancy Fonts or spacing its PERFECTLY legal to reduce the letter size to fit the full UK number into the Delorean Bezel.

Pressed steel US plates in various non-reflective colours showing your UK number are however illegal

Would you have a pic of this handy?

I have standard size front plate and hate it.
