Sorry Gez, the puller went back with Darren yesterday, he very kindly popped up with it and got the wheel off for me.
I'm actually surprised it came off, having had to contend with some threads which were not very clever, most likely due to the previous owner having had a go at it in the past, and failing. Darren persevered though and with the help of some cut down furniture bolts, and a few taps of a hammer, the wheel finally came free.
