Special T Auto - Shopping List

Postby dannyj75 » Wed Dec 24, 2014 12:48 pm

Hi Guys,

I thought I would put an announcement out that I will be making a purchase of several items from Special T Auto in the US.
Knowing that shipping & import costs are usually a big pain, I was wondering if anyone want to join me and share some costs.
I also have regular shipments coming from the US to my office which I hope to piggy back off and save more money.
One of the items which I would promote is the clutch bleeder, which i have coveted ever since replacing my master cylinder....
Code: 100843B
Price: $34.95
But I also like the look of the crank seal kit they offer.

I will be placing my order between 5th January 2015 and 9th January, with the aim of delivery to my office of 19th to 26th January. If you want to come in then please pm me or talk on the thread.

Any conversion & shipping Costs will be divided up by percentage fairly. And shipping from my office UK to other mainland UK address will be £9.00 TNT Next day.

Merry Christmas!

I second what Julian just said. I won't buy anything from this bloke ever again, he's the most UN-business-like person I have ever dealt with.

I got a never used stainless fuel pump support, but bought from someone else, who had it surplus to requirement. Didn't pay much but it was a shite fit. Had to take off an awful lot of metal to make it usable.

Just my 2p worth, but I do see a pattern here!

Hi Danny, really good of you to post up, someone will want something for sure.
Which crank seal are you looking at?

ok well the response was not what I was expecting, but it is extremely valued. If he is as useless as you make out I will find other suppliers for all the bits I was going to purchase.
my shortened list was:
102022 Kit, Drive flanges Seals & Oring
102024-2 Kit Rear main seal
110539SL Speedi sleeves
100843B Clutch air bleeder
100592PR Door Struts
Tool Clutch Alignment tool
102569u Pilot bearing Upgraded

So to answer Alister, I am changing the rear main crank seal - whilst I am in there and with gearbox off I will change clutch, diff seals and o-rings. I bought a rear main oil seal from my local parts supplier but it has the smooth outer edge rather than the ribbed outer edge. If reading these forums has taught me anything, the main seal is the most common place for oil leaks and the seal should be replaced with one with double inside lips and ribbed outer. I need to keep looking for a supplier with one that meets this spec. Any suggestions?

On another note, I was looking into WOLFHEAD sanding/graining tools, http://www.gandpmachinery.com/wolfheadwheels.html
would anyone else be interested if I was to purchase?

Merry Xmas, & Happy New Year!

Daniel, i did my clutch recently. I bought an alignment tool on ebay, also a pilot bearing remover. Less than 20 quid each, happy to give further details if you want or post both mine to you. Can do this just after new year. Pilot bearings are readily available. I think I posted on doc forum. I got skf 2rs type again new on ebay. I posted details here on a supplier for quality rear main seal (reinz I think, but search). I also have X2 other ones I sourced but declined to fit. Yours foc if you want the 2 tools?

You will also want the paper gaskets for the seal housing.

Just my thoughts, let me know if I can help,

Cheers

A

P's. I would like a remote clutch bleeder, but hervey's gets pretty mixed reviews on dmctalk. Anyone got any ideas?
