Has anyone removed the "Lambda" gel and replaced it with a fog light symbol? I was thinking of Laser printing one on OHP sheet to make the gel... I haven't attempted to remove the instrument cluster yet so not sure what to expect. My PJ Grady manuals make it look like the instruments can be separated from one another which will make things easier :)

James RG removed the LAMBDA text and stenciled on very convincingly FOG but not sure how he removed the LAMBDA text. Maybe he'll see this post and spill the beans.

FYI I'm using the LAMBDA light for my fog and currently happy as is but maybe way down the line it would be nice for it to say FOG than it telling fibs...

If I can get this to work on OHP sheet then I'll pass one on to you... I have managed to get the correct ISO standard image for the rear fog light so it's just a case of getting the dimensions of the Lambda gel and colour matching it (might take a few goes). Above all I have firstly got to get the instrument panel out... Looks like a bit of a pig :?

Weathers looking bad tomorrow so might be a day in the garage :D

It's held in with six nuts, piece of cake to get out, it does involve a bit of contortion though. Easier to do with the seat out of the car, but if you put the seat all the way back, and put the steering wheel tilt to the top toy can just get under there to get the nuts undone.

Mikes' spot on about the removal. It's 12 years since I removed my binnacle to swap out the 85 mph speedo with the 170mph (took my 85mph speed to Houston's Open House event in 2003) and they exchanged it (plus set the mileage up for me to match) plus bought new other gauges as mine being an Arizona car had faded red bits that had gone all orange. The faded one's worked fine and sold these on eBay to help absorb the cost of the OEM's units from DMCH. UK weather is far kinder and 12 years on my red bits are still red ;)

Thanks for the kind offer. Really like the idea of FOG displaying in such a way that it looks stock...

I can always mail you my NOS one for measuring/prototyping if you'd like. It's sitting on my bookshelf, so not so much of a pig to get to :)

That would be great! Would you be willing to sell them to me (just incase something breaks)? :?

Thank you James for lending me your NOS Warning indicator panel... I managed to get the gels off in one go without damaging them :D

I will be transferring it to Photo Shop tomorrow for modification so watch this space!
