Postby dannyj75 » Mon Mar 30, 2015 10:19 pm

Hi guys,

thought someone might be interested in this for the engine in the Wirral.

I am keen but in reality it is too far for me to go and get it.

great value for something not on eBay.

IF some one does buy it please post a message so that I know it is sold.

Wrong engine. No ram horns - this is the later B280 engine (or even later). It's a 1989 Volvo, a bit too modern for a DeLorean :)

That's the B280 engine - pity! (EFI rather than K-Jet, there's a thread somewhere about why it won't work unless you want one hell of a project).

EDIT: Hah, Arran - snap!

It can be physically fitted and if the ecu (either L or D jetronic) and other stuff is plumed in it will work. One of Keith "zippy" cars had this engine in.

Not oem for a direct replacement though

I would have snapped that up if it was over here. Would love the EFI engine.

AB - How complex a job would it be to plumb it in? As time goes on I expect B28s will get rarer and rarer, and people might not have the option to go like for like (ish).

Also you could argue if it's no more difficult to service/troubleshoot, a B280 would be more desirable anyhow...

I've not done one be before so I can't answer that. The electrics would be the most time consuming, even for someone who is experienced. You'd need to get the engine from the car with the full loom ideally. The engine on its own wouldn't be enough...
