Trunk release

Guess who's trunk release cable broke.... And hadn't got round to running an emergency one....and was en route to a wedding.... And the presents were in the trunk.... And no fuel flap

Well my dad had a go with some stiff rod while we got ready...
No luck
Got to church explained to Tom I had a plan to use one of his cars to form the wire correctly and try to go in through grommet under dashboard.
If all else failed I was going to drive Toms stock car back and leave mine there and sort it another time.
I got changed after the meal and after two hours got it open, by going in through the grommet. had some help from another guest as well!
Repaired cable and ran a spare lol

Had this problem about 6months ago, my solution was:

Raise the front of the car and place securely on axle stands.
Lying under the front drivers side locate the round access hatch above the brake fluid reservoir.
If fitted push out the hole cover and using a pole/stick, I used the jack handle push up the boot lining board until you can see the front latch through the hole.
Using a 2nd bar equipped with a hooked end reach through, hook the latch and pull like an absolute b@rstard.

If you believe in a higher entity prayer mike be good at this stage :)

That was going to be the next plan!
