Autoart 1:18 Delorean

Had a nice little surprise waiting at home today!

I cannot praise this model enough. It's by far the best Delorean model out there, by a mile. The attention to detail is incredible. It has little tiny gas struts on the doors, hood and louvres. They actually operate, they're not just solid rods of plastic! They even included the cargo net and seat belts. The brushed stainless is incredibly well done, you can imagine a little 1:18 scale Chris Nicholson doing it with a wolfhead wheel. All the underside detail is faithfully reproduced, from the LCAs to the suspension springs to the engine. The carpet is present in the boot, all the mesh grilles are photoetched metal.
If anyone is on the fence thinking about one of these, I would say go for it. It is expensive but it oozes quality.

Oh and there's no rust on the frame!

It's rubbish! The build quality is far better than the real car, not a good representation. It should have door seals held on with silicon sealant, melted fuses for extra detail, oil leaks around engine, poor panel gaps in the body, eyebrows on the front fascia, cracked dashboard.... The list goes on!

Love it. If you're going to have a model of your car, best to get the best available.

Do you have a sunstar model Martin? I am keen to see the two side by side.
