Interesting, I have been seeing this one on-line for ages, keen to learn more about it.

So, did the current owner buy it from AutoLehmanns in Moscow?

It didn't appear to be registered there as there are some shots of it in the back of a truck with AutoLehmanns plates on it, so it was recently registerd and for some reason driven to London -

it's not Roman Abramovich's is it?

Ask your friend to read off the VIN number for your :)

There is another one floating around with a very similar plate, also ending in 777.

This car is in a 'prestige'garage in Notting Hill, running rich and did have a blocked cat.
They have been buying parts then called up for advice which I was able to give as fairly routine faults

They sent a mechanic to my house to pick up my spare CPR which solved the running rich issue, readjusted mixture
Then the cat was completely blocked due to it running rich for a prolonged period.

Now working on warm start problem which I suspect is injectors leaking.

Reap the old one back Al, I might be able to rescue it if it doesn't need any parts inside

My money is on item 2 (based on cat damage following CPR issue), or 3 (based on warm start issue prevention being among its primary roles). Who is doing bookie?

Always a step ahead!

Have they done a fuel supply pressure test to dizzy, with the ability to shut off before or after gauge? It should tell if pressure is low pre dizzy, or lost post dizzy while warm and engine off. Should then confirm accumulator or injectors...
