they are a shocking thing to drive at night........like candle power headlamps ..... the Esprit has the upper hand on night driving ... much better headlamps

Hmmm they shouldn't be that bad Alan. They are the same units used in all sorts of cars and trucks. Is the silver reflective coating corroded away on yours?

Me and Carl overnighted back from Ireland in August in my car, the headlights were the least of our worries!! The rain making the car missfire was a bigger concern

Ive got replacement outers with sidelights......alignment is right..I just find em rubbish... Bit like the rest if it lol....

Theoretically if there was a nice discount on the long ferry from Birkenhead to Belfast would anyone be interested?

That's why I booked it Al, long crossing but while your on your arse on a ferry, you ain't driving & on the night crossing back you get a cabin thrown in for the price. No brainer I thought

For me personally the times just don't add up. I'd have to be in Liverpool at either 10pm on Wednesday or 10am on Thursday - neither of which sound appealing. Then the return would mean me arriving home on the Monday, which I can't do - but it's only me! Much as I'd love to spend less time in that f**king thing.

Yes. Also asked about extending it to the Monday. Welmoed got back to me today about the Irish Ferries and said DFDS has taken them over but pricing is still independent until 2012. Not what Irish Ferries had said but I will contact them again.

Over an hour less driving in the UK, no driving in Ireland

So you save 3 hours, but crossing is 8

If any one is doing the same crossing, Malc & I are going on the Wed morning & having an extra day over in Belfast, then the return is 10.30pm on the Sunday from Belfast, meanig you get to Birkenhead at 6.30am Bank Hol Mon. This also equals no night driving.
