lol!

You know - it's dark - you turn the headlights on - wouldn't they reflect a bit off of the shiny surface, causing a "distraction", or am I mad?

Looks ike a crazy design! It doesnt appear that the beam patterns in the glass could compensate for being behind the front wing!

Going off on a tangent here, this reminded me to look up a website I saw a long time ago:

http://www.danielsternlighting.com/

This websire looks very simple, but is in fact packed with proper information about light bulbs, HID conversons, "glare" vs" intensity" etc. Well worth a read, esp if you're considering a HID conversion for your halogen headlights.

I reckon the clear lights at the very front might do the side bits. Either way - very cool idea, but probably not practical - if that's important to you! :D

I had an idea some time ago about "pop-up" lights that are actually mirrors reflecting a light that faces upwards from under the bonnet/front end - the light would then appear to exist somewhere behind the pop-up housing, which would be a really funky illusion. The housing would weigh very little so the pop-up mech could be made to work very fast. There's prolly some law about the beam from a headlight having to be direct though.

I reckon the biggest problem would be the "beam width". You'd either need the bulb to be very very close to the mirror, or you'd need a bigger mirror than a normal light - if you know what I mean :? - Standard headlights have a distance of a few mm between the reflective surface and the bulb, so that the light "spreads" fairly evenly.

No, a complete headlight with lens, and just a 45 degree mirror directly above it. I used to muck about with effects lights - "scan" type lights all project onto a moving mirror
