VIN 5992 - The Monarch in Greece & restoration

Hmmm, connected battery,...
Door ajar lights illuminate, lights switch turn all lights on.... That's it!

None of the key functions is working. As if the key lock or harness is not giving commands to either Acc or ignition, starter etc...

You really have some wiring issues. ....

main ones:

Battery negative lead goes through body tub to the chassis. Check all earth points of wiring loom connect to the battery.

The connections to the chassis and from chassis to engine at the rear must have a good electrical connection. If you have painted your engine, you must clean the flex cable connection back to bare metal. ..

VIN 5992 - The Monarch in Greece & restoration

Would the lights go on if I had battery / frame ground issues? I'll check the engine

Could there be a main relay or fuse that keeps it dead?

Edit;

Grounding is fine. Put one end on the alternator + brown wire, and tapped the engine on various places. Seems the color does not insulate at all;)

I have not yet grounded the front harness. But I doubt that would keep the whole system dead:s

I'm not sure if can help you with this, but checking the ground point for the instrument panel/cluster is what comes to mind. So I grabbed these from DMCTalk:

VIN 5992 - The Monarch in Greece & restoration

On a happier note, I puts some juice onto my fuel pump.. Apparently it works fine..... And I heard flushing :(
One of the accumulator hoses was loose gushing fuel. One good thing delorean did was this peep hole index the centre console.. Pulled one screw and the cap.. Peek a booo!

Image

Tightened that sucker. Repo we're the pump... And I heard it like blood in its veins running through after 25 years....

Here is a vid I made trying to spot any leaks.

What sounded weird is after turning it off it made noises like the pipes were relaxing after the tension.

Looking at the wiring diagram. There are 2 main big relays in the relay compartment tucked under the metal case.

One is for accessories and is energised when the ignition key is in position 1

the other is the main relay and is energised when the ignition key is in position 2
