Well the second part of my last post was obviously tongue-in-cheek, but I do think that the whole BTTF thing has ramped up the prices a bit in 2014. There has certainly been an uptick in BTTF related forum members names and definitely in the amount of replica cars on the road, certainly in the US.
5 years ago, almost all the replicas were in museums etc., and now VideoBob, Coulombe and owners themselves are churning them out, it seems. It the UK, for example, it was just BTTF Brian for many many years and just recently that has been joined by, what, 3 or 4 more replicas?
It seemed like every new years party this year had a deloren present, at least based on Internet coverage. Even Fergie (the singer, not the Royal or the ex-MUFC manager) on the most popular US New Years Eve show (Dick Clarks NYE) brought in the new year with a short monologue about Marty McFly.
Personally I think demand will continue to be high this year and BTTF fans with the means to buy a car will get one, but will dip a little in the next couple or years as the BTTF furor passes. But that's just my opinion. We'll see how it pans out
