I saw Gez's chassis after it was stripped and was impressed with the results. All the coating was gone even on the inside sections where you can't get to it was all clean bare steel :) Well worth the drive to Dudley in my opinion.

Chassis is now underway, the front was rotten as hell. I'm fabricating a whole new front end including the cross member. Cross member is fitted I'm now just waiting on a few small bits of steel to do the front. Then once the back is played in time for the finishing! May just get it blasted then galvanised as the inner parts of the frame are literally brand new. Shame about the front!! Will post pics soon keep sting that but I will!

If you're going to fabricate a new front end, how about you cover your costs by making a run of them and sell them on?

Is there anyone out there that would like one made? It's very slightly different from the original, which is shit, I've strengthened the front part and made the whole top section much stronger and reduced the water traps, it's much stronger than the original and fully welded not "stitched" so again less water traps.

As the front end was designed to crumple as a safety measure, I wonder if the designers actually designed it like that?

Come on mate, pics are required!!!
We seemed to have bought our D's at about the same time from the states.
Mine's an Ex-Nevada car but needed a light resto with little jobs & things needing tidying.
Anyhow, pics........... :D
