arranj wrote:Just going through trying to organise who is on our ferry (the Wednesday overnight one from Liverpool) and trying to sort a convoy out.
Each line represents a car:
Arran
Julian
Alistair
Justin and Ben
Andy D
Mec and Dan
Tony and Jason
Rich Johnstone (not sure if 1 or 2)
Chris Nicholson and Rob Grady
Barry & Mrs. Knowlton
Mike and Mrs. Knowlton
Dan and Mrs. Knowlton
Alan Hammond
Mark Bourne and Chris Spratt (non-DeLorean)
Gez??
Mike Ward and Admin-bloke (non-convoy)
Dave Howarth and Chris J (not sure which car)
So I make that potentially 14+1 cars in the main convoy. 16 DeLoreans on the ferry. Have I got everyone? What's Gez doing?
I will try and work out a map, it's defo doable if everyone is game.
Also - does anyone know if the main car park is open and ready for us first thing in the morning, or will we need to find somewhere with parking for breakfast?
Arran,
Please put me on the list.
I am also coming and I am on the same ferry. Optimistically I booked up last October straight after the cinema thing at Basildump, but didn't really think I would make it. I am definitely coming and have recently had to modify my booking with Rob to enrol my little boy Gabriel who was desperate to come as he naively thinks Deloreans are the best things ever, (clearly he will grow out of this notion especially if he speaks to Mr Monk over the weekend). Fortunately he will not be travelling in the car (death trap) or ferry with me, he is flying on the Thursday afternoon with Catherine who I've also now had to enrol and upgrade my hotel room.
I have seen Chris N this afternoon and his new ride (wow), and am now thinking after chatting to Chris I will definitely join you in the convoy to Birkenhead. I was going to travel up the day before as my Mum lives in the Wirral and will expect a visit, but I figure it will be more fun and a hell of a lot more reassuring to travel with a load of other D drivers - sweating and watching their gauges and rearview mirrors for smoke, fluids or bits of car falling off. Plus the convoy will have both Chris and Rob Grady on hand and if they can't fix a Delorean that lets go by the roadside who can?
I am really looking forward to this - the last Eurofest I went to was 2006 and it was superb. I best give the car a run first, the furthest its been for the last 5 years is that Bas vegas thing which was about 10 miles!
